Where Does Reiki Come From

The increase of the general well-being, the preservation of health and the activation of the self healing forces in the medical case are aimed at by the Reiki treatment. The therapeutic energy work takes place thereby with the help of the hands of the Reiki giving. For Reiki the inauguration is necessary by a Reiki teacher.

There are however superficial similarities to the Chinese Daoismus and to Buddhist  philosophies with form and name of the Reikisymbole. The Reikilehre contains however no central Buddhist teachings as for example the theory of the three existence characteristics.

 

After the legend Mikao Usui teacher was in Kyoto, Japan. Arranged by questions of its pupils it tried to find out, how Jesus could heal. It studied books and writings over medicine in the whole world. When he couldn’t make any progress with his research, he went on a fast in 1922 on the holy mountain Kurama north of Kyoto. After the twenty-first day he saw a bright light, which wrapped him in the sky. It is to have received the Reiki inauguration from the universe. The following morning it pushed its foot to a stone, so that the foot bled. When Usui put its hands on the wound, the bleeding had been stopped. On the same day Usui successfully treated the toothache of a woman. Thus Usui began to observe and then  the phenomenon of Reiki in practice.

 

Since then Reiki is passed on from the teacher to the pupil by inauguration. Mikao Usui dedicated among other things Chujiro Hayashi as a Reiki Master, to masters is as training qualified to be understood here. Hayashi dedicated among other things the Hawaiianerin Hawayo Takata as a Reiki Master.

 

Hawayo Takata was the first Reiki Meister outside from Ja an. She trained altogether 22 Reiki masters, most not from Japan. Nearly all Reikipraktizierenden outside of Japan originates therefore from the inauguration line Usui Hayashi Takata. 1981 were brought to Reiki of the Mary McFadyen, one living in the United States by Hawayo Takata trained the Reiki master, over Germany to Europe.

 

Usuis original teachings called itself Usui Reiki Ryōhō the simplified variant spread by Takata in the west in Japan „western Reiki, seiyō reiki) is called technology.

 

Reiki is expenditure-practiced by humans of different religions and cultures.

 

Contrary to other forms of the energy work, Reiki practicing work not with their own energy, but with the universal or universal life energy, this is called here Reiki. After the inauguration by a Reiki teacher Reiki practicing see themselves as channel for this energy. Since Reiki practicing do not work with the own energy, they can treat themselves also.

 

Reiki is transferred by use of hand or also by the fact that the Reiki giving holds the hands some centimetres over the body. There are agreements over the individual treatment positions for a full treatment and for a short treatment. The Reiki giving can change however the treatment of his experience and intuition accordingly.

 

Reiki practicing ones assume Reiki can never harm as life energy. Reiki can be used apart from each school medical or other alternatively medical treatment. A diagnosis is not therefore necessary for the Reiki treatment to be effective.

 

A goal of the Reiki treatment is the physical, mental, spiritual and social health. Reiki practicing a holistic form of healing and assume changes in one parts  body system as an effect on other parts and can cause changes in other parts.

 

With Reiki usually feels a deep relaxation treated.

 

In the Reiki technical literature it is described that Reiki flows with the treatment there, where it is needed. Reiki works, even if the treated one does not believe in the effect. It works also with animals and plants.

 

In the technical literature over Reiki it is also described that Reiki the self healing forces strengthens and helps to overcome diseases. Reiki reduces among other things the side effects of medicines, supports the healing process of wounds and scars and alleviates pain.

By inauguration one understands a ritual with the Reiki, with which a Reiki teacher enables the Reiki pupil to give Reiki or use the Reiki symbols. Without this inauguration nobody can give Reiki, since the Reiki channel is not opened. Also the Reiki symbols without inauguration do not unfold their effect on the symbols.

 

Traditionally there are in the Reiki up to the teacher training three to four degrees, which are described in the following. With exception of the master training the different Reiki degrees are usually informed in week final seminars.

first degree [Work on]

 

During the inauguration in the first degree the Reiki channel is opened. The first degree represents the physical range.

 

After the inauguration Reiki practicing and for the whole life Reiki is to that immediately at the disposal. This can treat itself then both and other humans, in addition, animals and plants over its hands directly with Reiki.

 

The Initiation of the first degree made by the Reiki teacher consists of traditionally four inaugurations.

 

Further with the first Initiation fundamental is obtained over Reiki: the history of the Reiki, Reiki impact, and characteristics of the Reiki energy, basic positions of the full treatment and the short treatment and the so-called five life rules.

Second degree

 

The Reiki practicing is enabled by the inauguration in the second degree, three Reiki symbols, the strength and protection symbol, the mental symbol and the connecting symbol for using. With the second degree the mental aspect is the centre of attention.

 

The pupil gets during the training as the second degree traditionally three further inaugurations and learns the three Reikisymbole and the appropriate Kotodamas or Jumons similarly mantras -. Thus the mental and remote treatments are made possible to thus treat any energy field over time and space away with Reiki. Can be treated thus also humans at a distant place, pupil therefore as, more application possibilities.

 

The daily self treatment is regarded on all stages as foundation-stone for personal advancement. An important condition for the second degree is therefore also a longer practice with the first degree and the serious work and argument with itself.

Third degree (master degree) [Work on]

 

During the inauguration to the third Reiki degree the inauguration takes place on the master symbol. With the third degree the emphasis is on the entrance level to the astral range. By the master symbol the Reiki practicing makes itself conscious the tool of the universal or universal life energy.

 

The inauguration to the Reiki master takes place at the earliest one year after the first Reiki inauguration, so that the Reiki practicing can grow into the task of the Reiki championship.

 

The third degree is often divided today into two parts: Master degree and teacher degree. Originally it concerned however only a degree. Today it thus quite gives Reiki master, who is not Reiki teachers. Each Reiki teacher is however at the same time also Reiki master.

 

The teacher degree, also fourth degree mentioned, contains the knowledge around the inauguration rituals and enables to initiate other humans in Reiki. The training as the teacher usually takes up until two years, in order to develop appropriate didactical abilities.

 

The teacher degree differs from the other degrees in principle in the fact that a further inauguration is not here always given. Some Reiki teachers give however also during the inauguration to the Reiki teacher to three inaugurations. Since the training as the Reiki master and/or Reiki teacher is handled so different, also the data concerning the number of the inaugurations are not in the technical literature homogeneous

Apart from the descriptive traditional system after Mikao Usui meanwhile also further schools developed, which divided the training as the Reiki teacher in further degrees and inaugurations or with other systems to have mixed.

 

On alterations of the system one cannot possibly speak no more of Reiki. Mikao Usui closed and completely called its Reiki system in itself. Usui and Takata pointed out again and again that Reiki in its nature content may not be changed.

 

For Reiki treatments and Reiki training there is no firm regulation of charges. The remuneration is negotiated therefore directly with that Reiki practicing. The costs can be very different, depending upon who offered and kind of the training.

 

The costs of a Reiki treatment are for instance with those to a conventional Massage, go occasionally in addition, far beyond that. The Reiki treatment is offered rather rarely free of charge or against a donation, which lies in the discretion of the treated one. Health insurance companies do not take over the costs of Reiki treatments usually.
